What Happened in My Basement is a site-specific, immersive performance based on the experiences of characters that are directly related to the history of my childhood home. In this theatrical experience a small audience of 5-10 people watch the dream like re-telling of how these characters have managed to over-come some of their most difficult moments in their lives. Characters include; Margarita Aldestine, who in 2007 was kidnapped, and Jaime Lopez who worked in the observatory tower at the World Trade Center during 9/11.
 
The piece aspires to reflect on some of the ironies in emigrating to America, as well as provide the spectator a moment in which to reflect on what holds us back and how we can move forward from it.

The piece was created for my 2016 Degree show at Wimbledon College of Arts
